Alfred Housing Committee Inc. located at 14 Madison Street Wellsville, New York 14895 and is a private 501 (c) (3) non-for-profit corporation which was incorporated on April 17, 1980 and are governed by our Board of Directors.
Mission Statement: The purpose of the Alfred Housing Committee, Inc. is the betterment of housing conditions for senior, disabled and low-income families; to provide safe, adequate and affordable housing through infrastructure development aimed at the remediation of health and safety concerns; to plan and promote economic development through job creation inspired by the expansion of existing businesses or the creation of new business enterprises and to preserve and promote the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens in the communities of Alfred, Almond and Wellsville.
Alfred Housing Committee's service area covers the Town and Village of Wellsville and the Town and Village of Alfred and the Town of Almond. Alfred Housing Committee is a Rural Preservation Company (RPC) and we apply for and receive grants from a variety of state and federal sources.
Alfred Housing Committee continues to provide safe and affordable rental units to senior, disabled of any age and low income families. Alfred Housing currently co-owns and manages 100 units in the Village of Wellsville. All our properties are handicapped accessible and have off street parking, laundry facilities and maintance staff on site.
Alfred Housing Committee will support our communities' efforts with infrastructure assistance as needed for the Towns and Villages of Wellsville and Alfred and the Town of Almond. We will strive to improve the quality of life for our citizens when opportunities present themselves.
